1952 Chevy Fleetline by Gas Monkey Garage The car that started it all!
This 1952 Chevrolet Fleetline is a one of a kind custom. Built in 2004 by the world famous Gas Monkey Garage based in Dallas Texas. This is the quintessential perfect rat rod. Gas Monkey Garage started the transformation with a dry west Texas car. The car has a full section chop, not a pie cut chop like most. This is a very difficult job and has never been accomplished as well as you see here. The entire chassis is custom with full air ride and new wide wall whites.
Ironhorse Rods and Custom upgraded the motor and transmission to a 572ci 603hp crate motor and 400 turbo transmission. They also upgraded to disc brakes and a 9" Ford rear end. With complete custom wiring and all new suspension this car now has over 5,000 proven miles and appeared at all the top shows including Paso Robles. Interior is a custom and is finished with thousands of dollars worth of real sheepskins. This vehicle has the perfect patina and absolutely no rot. The floor pans and trunk pans and rockers are solid and original to this car and have just the right look. The entire vehicle was custom fabricated over one year's time to compete in the 2004 Detroit Autorama the same show that awards the Riddler trophy. This 1952 Fleetline was given top awards "Best in Show" and "Best Chop". This vehicle has been pictured in many magazines including the famed Rodders Journal.
